About GOLD COUNTRY TREASURE SEEKERS

Located in the heart of the California Gold Country, in Placerville, California, the group was formed in the early 1980s, to promote, to encourage, to teach detecting and mining and to stay informed on all laws pertaining to these activities. GCTS members also perform four types of community service:

◾Lost Item Recovery for the Public

◾Trash Metal and Heavy Metal Recovery

◾Historical Artifact Recovery

◾Physical Evidence Recovery

Meeting Information ~ When: 7:00 P.M. Third Monday of every month, except December Where: Placerville Veteran’s Hall, 130 Placerville Drive, Placerville, CA 95667. GCTS also sponsors a training hunt on the first Sunday of every month. Members meet for breakfast at the Placerville Veteran’s Hall, then set out for a mystery destination to hone their detecting skills. If you are interested in metal detecting, gold panning, gold extraction, recreational prospecting and being among friendly people who have the same passion, please join us. Visitors are always welcome!

Come to a meeting and experience the thrill of treasure hunting as a hobby. Our members are actively participating in metal detecting, prospecting, digging bottles and even meteorite hunting and bring their latest finds to the meetings for show and tell. We have snakes, raffles with plenty of prizes and guest speakers. The hobby of treasure hunting is one of the most rewarding hobbies for both the adventure and the reward as well as for exercise and to calm the mind and spirit from everyday stress. Here you can meet others who share the passion who can help you get started, choose the right equipment, teach you how to use it and even do research to find that hidden treasure you always knew was out there waiting for you! We look forward to meeting you!
